How do I disable the annoying dots which appear when trying to draw with the pen tool. Starts off ok then suddenly a circle of dots appears at the end of the line. It serves no purpose other than to annoy and frustrate.

Hard to say why your getting those "Circle of Dots"

I only see that if an application is really working to do a task, like a filter.

If you change the View % of the image to say 25, 50 or 100 % view do the Pencil Tool lines look better?

I've tried all the various options but it makes no difference. It's just something built in to the software. Maybe I'll get used to it. I'll persevere for a while . Thank goodness for old fashioned pen and ink with tippex. Still very useful !

What version of macOS do you want to upgrade to?

Any version of mac upgrade now from mojave will render cs4 unworkable so I'll try different options. Elements is definitely not going to work for me so I'll do more research. I still don't understand why adobe have created thses dots for drawing. Thanks for your help.

Sorry I cant seem to get a screnshot. I'm just palying around with the pen tool after recently purchasing elements 2018 on ebay. So just drawing basic images on the screen using my mac mouse. The line begins ok then suddenly a circle of dots appears which partly covers the line. I have an old version of photoshop cs4 which I have used to correct pen and ink line drawings and had no problems but upgrading my mac os may stop cs4 from working so thought i'd try elements. Disapponiting so far.
