PSE 2019 "because the default printer could not be opened"

This seems to be a historic problem as far back as PSE13. I recently PURCHASED the PSE2019 upgrade and now I can't print to my HP Photosmart 7520. Before PSE2018 printed the same photos FINE. Other apps print FINE.

* I have updated the HP 7520 Drivers.

* I have reconnected to my network

It's unbelievable that this problem still exists.

So now what do I do?

Nell

Hello,

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you had to face.

Could you try resetting the preferences once?

To do so, launch Photoshop Elements Editor and navigate to:

  • Edit > Preferences > General (on Windows)
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor > Preferences > General (on Mac)

Click the button to reset the preferences on next launch. Then relaunch the application.

Also, please try reconnecting your printer to see if it helps.

Thanks,

Medha

I have now loaded PSE2018 and it prints fine.

I tried Photoshop CC 19.1.6 and it prints fine.

PSE2019 FAILS TO PRINT.

I have now loaded PSE2018 and it prints fine.

I tried Photoshop CC 19.1.6 and it prints fine.

I tried PSE14 and it prints fine.

Prints on MSWord 10.

Note that all these print tests were performed on the same PC running Windows 10.
