Re index Visual Similarity data. What does this mean?

I have resinstalled PSE14 on a new SSD.  I have got my catalog back and I was doing the optimise and repair options. I got the message in the repair tab saying no errors were found but with a check box to Re index Visual Similarity data. What does this mean?

Where to search in similar cases?

Start with the home screen of Elements.

Just enter your text search in the text entry line on top of the dialog:

"Re index Visual Similarity data"

You get a link to the help doc about searches by visual similarity.

https://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/using/search-based-visual-uniqueness.html#visual_similarity_search

This indexing step does take a lot of time, so, if you don't use this kind of search, you don't need to accept the indexation.
