Transferring Upgrade to New Computer

Some years ago, I purchased Photoshop Elements 8 (on CDs).  Back around 2013-2014, I upgraded to Elements 12 by downloading files.  Now, I am setting up a new computer.  I was able to set up Elements 8, but when I went to install the upgrade to Elements 12, I copied the set of files and directories to the new computer, but the software would not run.

    Hello,

If you looking to trobleshoot the issue mentioning Errorcode 16, the below link might help. It might be due the permission of SLStore and Adobe Folder in program data.

Link: Re: Persistent Configuration Error 16

Please let us know if this helps.

    Thanks

There is no upgrade. Any reference to "upgrade" is related to marketing. Each version of the software is independent. That means that you can have PSEv. 8 and PSEv. 12 on the same computer and utilize one or the other..

I suggest that you install v.8.or v.12 and see if it runs, although it is problematic that one or the other will work on a modern operating system.

By the way, are there any error messages? Windows or Mac?

I am using Windows 10 - on both the first and second computers.  First computer has no trouble running Elements 12.  When I try to run Elements 12 on the new computer, I get Error Message 16.
