Workspaces not working properly in latest build release of Premiere

Explorer ,
Jul 22, 2022 Jul 22, 2022

Updated Premiere Beta to Version 22.6 on our HP Z8 workstation running Windows 10 current release. today. When I open an exisiting project, the workspace layout does not appear (all I get is a blank window). After clicking around in the "Window" tab I ended up with cascades of small windows, one for each workspace element. I noticed that each of these small windows had a large blue "windows"-style" header similar to the floating windows in Adobe Audition. Also, I could not recall any of the default workspaces or my custom one.

Hopefully this is not a "new-look" for the edit workspace as these header bars take up a lot of screen real estate. I prefer the original style Version 22.5  and don't need or want a big blue window header with a red "close x" in the corner as the blue header bars are quite distracting. (I don't mind them when I float a window such as the Essential Graphics over my workspace.)

Hopefully this is a bug and not someones nifty idea for a new "feature".

Note I rolled back Premiere to ver 22.5 before sending in this report so the system information is not on the most current release.

Thanks

I have the same issue (attached) any news about this? All the older workspaces are greyed out, I can re-build a workspace from scratch, but I cannot save it, so I assume this is not a "feature"

Standing by, thanks !

Could you try closing Premiere Pro, then launching it again while holding the Alt key? This will reset your preferences (only for the Beta) and it would be good to know if this brings back your workspaces. Thank you.

Matt -

Thanks, this works, but only if I create a new empty project first, and then once inside (with the workspaces working correctly again) open the old project (open, not import)

The issue arises if I just start up Premiere and try to open a project from the previous project history in the (now-not-so New) Project panel

Thanks !

Yes the create new blank project, leave it open while opening an exsiting project works but is not an acceptable solution. Tried resetting preferences (Hold "alt" key while starting PP-Beta.)

Will roll back to previous version until this one is resolved....

Hi Matt,

(Note: I have two seats of CC in our studio, so I am replying from our second seat's Adobe ID...)

I alos noticed that when an exisiting project is opened (Blank screen appears), that the entire Workspaces section uner the "Window" menu is grayed out. Don't know if that is a clue to the issue.

Rolling back one rev...

Matt, Here is the other big Problem with doing this.Everytime I reset preferences, all of my custom export settings are lost and getting them back set up is a real pain in the neck. It seems that even the regular version of Premiere is getting buggier and buggier! Issues with NVidea Grpahics, CUDA, Dropped frames an frame reconstruction abound.

I have to admit, I am seriously looking at moving to another video platform becasue this situation is not improving.

What does it tak to get Adobe to quit trying to add "fun features" and just make a stable editing tool?

This is again getting very frustrating!

Same, it is really not a solution for me either, I have been starting on DaVinci Resolve, but as busy as I've been, it is really hard to find the time to slowly train myself in it, and starting a new project on Resolve would take me forever and miss deadlines so I am kind of stuck until I do have some serious free time.

I am on the same boat, we have been asking for common "features" for years
