Choppy Export

Recently My premiere pro update to the 2024 version and all of a sudden I am having issues with playback and exporting. When my resolution playback is set to 1/2 or 1/4 it plays perfectly fine but as I go to export it freezes certain frames and is choppy.

I record everything in 4k and then scale and export down to 1080p as I post a lot to social media and stuff and this is the first time i've had these issues.

I cleared my cache media files, closed tabs, updated preferences, everything I could find online and still no luck.

I am using a Dell G15 laptop with the 13th generation i7, 40 GB of RAM and the RTX 4050 graphics card so it should be more than enough to handle a simple 40 second video.

If anyone has any suggestions or has fixed this issue recently please let me know.

Hey Duncan,

I'm sorry to hear about this. Are you still experiencing this issue? Please let us know if your playback is choppy even when you open the exported media in a media player. Also, please share the source of the files you're editing. Are they screen recordings or recorded in a camera? This information will help us better understand the problem.

Thanks,

Ishan

Ishan,

I haven't had the issue with any other types of videos I've made, I realized though that it was ONLY with DJI 4k footage so I can only assume it was something to do with DJI's mp4 format, next time I use it I am going to use .mov and see if that fixes it, I've been able to use 4k footage with my mirrorless camera and it has run perfectly fine so I'm not too worried about it now.
