Hi, this is a compilation of the same problem posted by different users (two post are mine, but inside there is more people with the same problem).

The problem is this: Multicam monitor dissapears and only shows the preview, not the multicam

selection. You can see inside every post the glith/bug explained.

We need a solution, editing in multicam is extremly annoying with this bug.

Upvote if you have the same problem.

Steps to reproduce:
    1. Editing in multicam view.

Result: The preview only showing one camera, in full screen (inside the panel) and not showing the camera angle selection. It work again when you press a number to change a camera, then it shows again the camera angle selection with the preview on the side.

Had to roll back to 23.3.0 build 61.

Multicam feeds not showing most of the time. However, when I click a programmed key for each camera feed it will then kick in but then lose the cameras later.

Working with ProRes 422 1080i files and sequence. No weird plug-ins.

I tried emptying the media cache, resetting premiere pro prefs etc. All the usual stuff doesn't fix it.

Sight.

When I stop the multicam playback, and make a cut in the timeline to delete a part of the video or make a ripple delete, the display turns to a single cam mode, where you don't have the multicam preview, only one camera.

The workaround have been double click in the preview, but it's annoying doing that everytime I delete something.

Never had this bug in previous versions.

might try a proxy workflow and see if that helps, but if 23.3 works for you I'd stick with it.

23.3 have a more frustrating bug; non stop timeline, so we need to choose what bug we want to work with depending on the version. I prefer this bug, it's also a pain in *, but can deal with it.

So the multicam view in version 23.4 stops showing the camera angles randomly at some point  or if playing around with the track targeting which as you know also controls the multicam angles.

To bring it back I have to select another sequence, maximize or minimize windows with the ~ key or just play around randomly with the interface by changing the windows and selecting stuff to make the image in the program monitor change.

23.3 works as it should.

Be aware of this if you want to update.

I'm on Windows 11, Intel gen 11 CPU.

UPDATE:

Also tried it on another machine with AMD processor and Win 10, same thing.

The monitor in multicam mode works fine until I make a cut (C), from that moment the monitor is not  working properly.

Sometimes it shows like it´s suppose to be (Image 1).

But then, after stop and make a cut or even just stop, the monitor shows only one angle (like it was regular monitor/preview) (image 2).

So now there is not multicam angle in the monitor, just one image.

I found a workaround wich is to press any key that change angle (1,2,3) then the monitor goes back to multicam, but it's extremly frustrating to work like that.

Yes I've restore preference, make new sequence, same.

The multicam is smooth, not dropped frames, everything works fine until that bug appears.

Not sure how a proxy from 1080i footage would benefit anything? That's a pretty easy resolution for simple multi cam editing.

it's a fairly simple thing to try and as your project and sequence gets more complex, proxies can become crucial...  If I have the time, I always generate "prores proxy" proxy files

The problem reverting to previous version is that it has the non-stop multicam bug, where the video can't be stopped.

The simple fact is multi cam editing works fine in 23.3. In 23.4 it doesn't. So what's changed? In my opinion proxy's are for 4k editing or greater. Seriously, 1080i prores footage does not require proxy's. Hopefully the next version of premiere will fix this issue.

updates often put greater demands on your system.   And that's what MAY be going on here.  If everything's working for you fine in 23.3 and you don't need the new features in 23.4, keep working in 23.3.  If you want or need the new features, maybe try a proxy workflow...   just a suggestion.

I am editing a multi camera project with six cameras. I have the six cameras on the left and the selected camera on the right. Since the last version of Premiere Pro, an ennoying bug has been introduced. After some editing, the six cameras disappear and I only see the selected camera. I can get the six cameras back by clicking "toggle track output" and hiding and unhiding the V1 line. After a little time the same thing happens again. Any ideas what to do about it? Pressing Shift-0 doesn't help.

I am using Premiere Pro 23.4.0 on Windows 11.

Hi there!

I'm attempting to edit short social media clips for my podcast.

For this, I've recorded my footage with two cameras in 1080p 16:9, from which I isolate two angles in each shot. Thus, I've got four 9:16 shots of each host.

As far as I'm aware, I've correctly created my multicam sequence clip.

However, a strange error occurs when I try to edit with the clip on a new timeline.

I drag the multicam clip onto my timeline and enable the multicam view in my Program Monitor window. Initially, I see the four shots on the left and my currently selected angle to the right, just as it should be. But as soon as I make a cut, the four preview angles disappear, and the selected camera centers in my Program Monitor window.

I can only bring them back by disabling and re-enabling the track on which the multicam clip is placed. It then plays without any issues, but whenever I make a cut—either by clicking on an angle or using the keyboard shortcut to cut to a camera—all the angles disappear again and I'm left with only the program preview of the selected camera. The strangest thing is that the info overlay of the camera angles remains on screen.

I believe this is a bug and I've tried almost every toggle I could think of, from changing the render engine to creating proxies.

I'm running Premiere Pro v23.4, but I've also tried it on the Premiere Pro Beta v23.6.

I've included screenshots of the various stages of my problem to make it a little clearer.

My computer specs are:

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) running macOS Monterey 12.6.2

Processor: 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

Memory: 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

GPU: AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8 GB

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Thanks! I've transcoded my footage to quicktime prores 422 .mov and it seems to work now.

It's quite the hassle to have to transcode all my footage, but if this is the only way for it to work properly so be it.

I do still find it very weird it used to work perfectly with my H.264 footage in the past. I make these edits weekly and it just suddenly started glitching on H.264 footage about three weeks ago.

Anyway, thanks for the help, I'm able to finish my edits now without going crazy.
