Have you done any software updates or had the chance to try this footage in a more recent macOS version?

Are any third-party plugins installed and have you tried clearing your cache? You can do this by holding a modifier key (like shift) on app startup and choose to clear cache and disable third party plugins (if applicable) just to rule out.

This is primarily a user to user forum, with staffers monitoring and posting a lot more than they used to. I would hope you get a staffer jumping in.

 

In my experience, bug reports are used internally, but are not so often replied to. Which can be frustrating with a situation like yours.

 

And it's clear you are having a horrible experience, but it is not one that most users are having. Which suggests that something that hasn't been figured out yet is mashing your machine.

 

I'm all PC, use quite a bit of OBS output and some phone media in my work, and am not having any troubles whatsoever. So finding the details of what is causing that hot mess you're stuck with at the moment will probably require some troubleshooting.

 

For a first question, have you created a project in say 24.x, and if so, does that work correctly?

That is just awful, bizarre behavior ... yowza! It's rather unusual, and in some ways, that can make it more difficult to sort ... sadly. I'm running some of the same media on PC, and don't have an issue. Nor are many others posting here.

 

So I do hope a staffer can go back through your stuff and get some help!

@Will.. We would love to work with you to diagnose the crash reports to understand and fix the root cause. In previous posts in this thread, I believe you mentioned that you were not willing to include your email address with these reports. (My apologies if I'm mis-remembering.) Did you include your email address in these most recent reports? I ask because we've been unable to find any crash reports when searching using your email address.

I trust you are aware that there are several million daily users of Premiere. So even only a very small percentage of the user base having crashes is still, in real terms, a decently large number.

 

THAT is why they need your email to tie your crash reports to you.

Hi, I have to reply in this thread because I’ve found the cause of the problem.

 

In the new project I’m working on right now, I also had an issue where the Premiere Pro player kept freezing.

It turned out the problem happens when I play videos downloaded using YouTube Video Downloader!


I’m watching the material, the player reaches a video from the yt downloader, and the app crashes.

Now I just convert the downloaded files online from mp4 → mp4, or I use a different downloader.
The issue occurs with pl.loader.to, but I think they also use other domains.

Remember the thing about several million daily users? We each are one very small subset. So any bug reports are among probably a goodly share of them, even if only a tenth of one percent of the users were posting them.

 

Is is frustrating to no get something bothering you done? Yep, been there done that. At the same time, I do realize I'm not "univeral" I suppose you could say.

 

So ...I totally sympathize. And ... I can look at things outside me also. Which is not always enjoyable.

 

I've got an ongoing issue myself, but it is clearly one in which I am very rare to be having it. Which ... yes, very, very frustrating ... but ... dang.
