P: Stack overrun issue

Community Beginner ,
Apr 16, 2025 Apr 16, 2025

It seems like the latest update of Premier Pro suddenly causes "Stack Overrun" when doing things in Premier Pro like adding Video Transitions, Copy/Paste attributes.

I have not seen that before the upgrade thet hit me a few days back,

It is mostly annoying, but I am concerned that somethings may not work at the end...

I does not show up directly after start up, it takes a bunch of edits.

If I re-start, I am free of the error for a while but it returns again....

Any idesas on a quick fix?

Hi @KjellSB and @gco88-us,

Sorry for the frustration. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

Can you provide operating system, hardware specs, and the Premiere Pro version number you are seeing this on? (e.g. Version 25.1,  25.2,  25.2.1, etc)

What kind of media are you working with?

Hope we can help you soon,
Dani

Me and others are now seeing the same bug. feels like a bug and not a real problem. https://www.reddit.com/r/Adobe/comments/1kno9dx/comment/mstecje/

Illustrator is open almost 24/7 and just about the same for Bridge and Photoshop

MacOS Ventura, Mac mini M1, current ppro, same issue. My timeline is 22 hours long, for the past week I've had no issues, and today all of the sudden I keep getting the stack overrun. All my files are from one single camera, so everything has the same bitrates and settings etc. Ive closed all apps in the background, deleted unnecessary footage and shortened timeline to 16h with that, I keep getting this error. It seems it has no impact on my work, but who knows what will happen when I come to export. Really annoying.

Hi I have this problem as well since updating to 25.2.3, Stack Override issue everytime I try to stack graphic layers, edit text, cut audio, alert pops up literally every second, it starts to be impossible to work with.  I'm currently editing a screencast, it's not heavy nor complicated material, yet Premier Pro is having issues with it. It never happened on any 24.0 version. What can I do?

I'm having the same issue. Constant "Stack Overrun" error appearing. Doesn't seem to be affecting the edit but incredibly annoying having it pop up all the time.

I stopped receiving the error with the latest update. Are you on version 25.3?

Hi Ez4BABA,

Could you please confirm the exact version of Premiere Pro that you are using? This issue has been resolved in v25.3.

Thanks,

Sumeet
