transcription still crashing latest version of premiere version 25.1.0 build 73. Can this be fixed? This was happening on the first release of pemiere 2025 and i think a really late version of premiere 2024.  Mac os sequoia 15.1.1, Apple M2 Ultra, 128gb ram.

@Peter Reef,

Thanks for the detail you are providing.

Staff look at crash reports. It is unusual for them to contact you, but it has happened a few times for me over the years. It is common for staff working with you to access the report if you have included your email.

When you refer to deleting additional folders, were these the folders described in these 2 links?

I completely reinstalled premiere twice and deleted any remaining folders, wiped the media cache.. even in a brand new project batch transcribing a few clips leads to a crash. Does adobe ever read those error reports created on a crash, I sent it 40 times now and added my mail address but no response ever.

Same here, Premiere is constantly crashing on all of my projects when transcribing clips or sequences. Is there any fix?

I am using Premiere 25.1.0 on macos sequoia 15.2. on a macbook pro max m2 32gig ram.

No matter what I try: auto transcription on or off, transcribing a sequence with clips in the text window or a bunch of clips by right-clicking - premiere always shuts down after some time and lets me send an error report to adobe. I did this about 30 times now. Will there be a solution?

@Kevin-Monahan This is happpening in Premiere 24 as well.  Transcription crashes Premiere.   Often times it gets to the end of a clip then crashes.

@kieranbd,

Thanks for checking. It was a long-shot! I still suspect multiple causes.

@Stan Jones I never open the progress dashboard, and PP still crashes immediately as transcription hits 100%. Uninstalling does not help.

@kieranbd,

The Progress Dashboard is an icon in the upper right of the UI. If the DrawBot error is the problem, it appears more of a hang than a crash, but it may also crash at some point. The first screenshot is of the Progress Dashboard closed, with no activity occurring. The second is closed with activity. The drawbot issue occurs if it is Open.

See this post for links to 2 staff posts for a special uninstall process that apparently helps some transcription problems.

@Stan Jones:

  1. I have the Text window open, not sure if that's what you mean by Progress Dashboard?
  2. v24.6.4 build 3
  3. App crashes completely
  4. Yes, transcription finished when I reopen project

@kieranbd,

See my post above, regarding one odd possibility (drawbot errors). Do you have the Progress Dashboard open when you transcribe?

What version of PR - 25.0 pr 25.1?

Does it just hang or crash?

Is the transcription finished when you reopen the project?
