P: Widescreen Monitor dragging is misaligned

Problem: When i want to drag an clip in my timeline the mouse position and the location of the clip is completly misaligned. Like the mouse courser is in the middle of the screen and the clip is "attached" to something on the right side of the screen. When moving the mouse the misaligned clip moves with it. Same happens if i want to add an effect to a clip or something in the sequence. So the whole Mouse <-> Position is wrong when dragging. For selecting it works perfect. When i move Premiere to my other monitor (4k) it works perfectly. When i change the screen scale in windows from 100% to 125% it works. When changing back it breaks again. It does not happing in other programs but also with the Premiere Beta Version. In e.g. Photoshop also no problems. I checked already updating my NVIDIA drivers, but i am on the newest version (tried studio and gaming drivers).

Premiere Version: 25.1.0 (Build 73) but also happens with the Beta Version of Premiere

Windows 11 - latest updates

NVIDIA 2060 graphics card

No Plugins

Monitor: Asus PA348CGV  - Scaling 100%, 3440x1440

If I change the scale to 100 it fixes the issue but I prefer to not do that

I use a laptop with a second screen (extended) and this has not been a problem at all until a few days ago. Suddenly, whilst editing a project, the clips (or audio, text etc.) doesnt aline with the mouse in the timeline or in library. This only happens on the extended screen and not on the laptop screen.

Se attached screen record.

This is very annoying and are slowing down my work process alot..
Greatful if anyone has a solution or some ideas on how to fix this!

Using Premiere v. 25.1

Doesnt work:

- Restart Premiere

- Restart computer

- Downsizing the window of Premiere

- Open another or a new project

Hi @sebastianb98931150 ,

Yes, we are seeing this with a few users.  Hopefully, the scaling fix will work as we investigate this issue.  Some have found it helpful if you can roll back the Windows update.  Our team is actively looking into this, so hopefully, there will be more information soon.

Hi  @Rach McIntire

i checked. My 4k Monitor is on 125% (150% recommended). the Widescreen Monitor is on 100% (this is also the recommended). When i change the 4K monitor to 100% it works on the widescreen Monitor -> Problem solved. If i change it to 150% is does not work. So when both are the same scale it works. But

- this was in the past not a problem (last 12 months)

- having the same scale on both screen is not something i can work with longterm. Either the 4k is too small with 100% or the Widescreen is too big with 125%.

Hello @sebastianb98931150,

Other users are experiencing a similar issue. Many were able to resolve the issue by making sure the monitor scaling on both monitors was the same.  Can you confirm both monitors are the same scale %?

Having a bit of a bizzarre issue with Premiere Pro 2025.

When extending displays, when moving footage/ nests on the timeline, the mouse is totally out of sync - to the point where I have to drag my mouse to the bottom of the screen to get it into track 1 or 2. It only happens when extending displays, when I use just the monitor or just my laptop it works fine.

I've attatched an image to try and show it best I can. Doesn't show my mouse but in this screenshot it's underneath the audio track, and to the right.

We've tried almost everything to resolve this:

- Different monitor

- Different mouse

- Reverted to old version of Premiere Pro (also tried 2024, same issue)

- Updated drivers with custom installation

- Different HDMI lead

Any other suggestions? It's a nightmare! Just to note its only Premiere pro, none other adobe softwares. Thanks in advance.

My laptop settings:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics

RAM: 32.0 GB

Graphic: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU

AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

Hi @sebastianb98931150

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums!  We’re happy you’ve reached out. Have you tried resetting your preferences?  Did this issue happen when upgrading to 25.1, or were you already on it, and it suddenly started happening?

We’ll need a bit more info to try to help with your issue. Please see: How do I write a bug report?

In Premiere Pro 2024, any track I select in the timeline, whether it be audio, video, an image, etc, will not move normally. I will have to drag my mouse AWAY and to the LEFT of the timeline in order for the clip to appear from the RIGHT side of the timeline, THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHERE MY MOUSE IS.

Yes, I have shutdown my computer and turned it back on.

No, it is not storage issues or memory or drivers.

I switched my Premiere Pro project to the 2025 version, and the problem persisted.

pretty please help me

Does the issue persist in a brand new 2025 project.
