Keep in mind I am editing H.264 videos at 1080p resolution Rec709, and WAV files

What's the driver number for that ancient GPU? I'm not sure it's even supported anymore, dates from 2013.

And your GPU probably doesn't have any 'hardware' for internal processing of long-GOP H.264/5 media, so that system is having to do full CPU decode/encode work. Not really great for long-GOP workflows.

Actually, I just found out I am running outdated drivers from 6 months ago, so I'm going to update to the newest one (August 28th 2025) Apparently they still support this card from 10 years ago.

Post the driver you can install please.

And maybe @RjL190365 can pop in, as they are the resident expert on hardware.

LATEST

The 580.xx branch of the Quadro enterprise driver that's compatible with your M5000 is currently the latest branch of the driver available. However, it will be the last driver branch to support all pre-RTX-generation (pre-Turing) GPUs. Updates to the 580-branch driver series will continue until the end of July of next year.

The next major version branch of the workstation driver is due this coming October, and will require a Turing or newer generation GPU in order to be installed.
