Premiere keeps freezing when opening any project

New Here ,

My Adobe Premiere (version 25.3) freezes everytime I open a project, doesn't matter the size and complexity of it (documented in the video). It all started when I was editing a source clip in Lumetri Color. Even uninstalling and installing again didn't fix my problem. Can someone help me?

My notebook + specs:

- Alienware m16R2

- Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H (2.50 GHz)

- 32GB RAM
- NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU + Intel Arc Graphics

- Windows 11 Home Single Language v. 24H2

Hi @Abrasel Audiovisual,

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums and sorry about the issues. Is this happening if you try to create a brand new project from scratch as well or just pre-existing projects? Do you have any third-party plugins installed and are all your drivers up to date (and using Studio driver)?

Have you tried troubleshooting by resetting preferences and clearing your cache? You can do this by holding down a modifier key like 'Shift' while opening the application. A 'Reset options' wind

Hi @Abrasel Audiovisual,

Have you tried troubleshooting by resetting preferences and clearing your cache? You can do this by holding down a modifier key like 'Shift' while opening the application. A 'Reset options' window will show up where you can clear your cache, reset preferences (make sure you have a backup of these first, more info here) and disable plug-ins if applicable.

Are any Crash Report dialog boxes showing up after you quit Premiere Pro?

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani

This is happening in both cases: when I try to create a brand new project from scratch or pre-existing projects. I don't have  any third party plugins installed and all my drivers are up to date.

It appears to be a GPU problem because resetting preferences and clearing your cache makes it possible to open Premiere and a project but when I try to resize the Premiere panels, the program starts to lag and the internal GPU peaks 100% in Task Manager.

I already configured in the W11 Settings->System->Screen->Graphics for Premiere to run using the NVidia GPU as well in the Nvidia Control Panel. There's another configuration I can do to make Premiere run using only the NVidia GPU?

Thanks for the information @Abrasel Audiovisual. Was this also happening when the Windows graphics setting for Premiere Pro had the default 'Let Windows decide' option selected? Which version of the Studio driver and Intel Arc Graphics driver do you have installed?

If you do get a Crash Report dialog box, make sure you add your account email in it before sending and we can search for that report as well.
