Premiere Pro 25.2 Bugs: Renderer Option Greyed Out and Reset to Saved Layout Issues

New Here ,
Apr 28, 2025 Apr 28, 2025

Bug 1: Renderer Option Greyed Out
- In Premiere Pro 25.2, the Renderer option (GPU/CPU) in Project Settings is greyed out and cannot be changed.
- This is a problem because sometimes CPU rendering is slower but more stable, and users need to switch manually.
- Expected: Ability to choose between GPU and CPU rendering.

Bug 2: Reset to Saved Layout Not Working
- When importing workspaces from older versions, clicking "Reset to Saved Layout" does nothing.
- It only works after clicking "Save Changes to this Workspace" or "Save as New Workspace."
- Expected: "Reset to Saved Layout" should work immediately, even for imported workspaces.

Hi @waleedq40310673

The change that you're describing in Bug 1 is not a bug; it's intended behavior. More information is available about this change is here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-discussions/now-released-software-rendering-option-removed/td-p/15075725

If you see a rendering issue that is only resolved by switching temporarily to software rendering (how to do that is described here), please let us know.

Thank for the information about importing workspaces! W
