Premiere Pro has trouble selecting text in the text window

I'm just editing some old projects and have to copy&paste text from one graphics element into another one.

What i do:
Im navigating to the graphics element in the text window, select the text by repeatedly clicking until it's completely marked, copy it, navigate to the target element, select the according text field and paste the text.

Problem:

Sometimes some characters (between 1 and 3) get cut from the end as if they weren't selected before i copied the text. But they definitely were. At least Premiere Pro showed them as selected.

Observation:

If i paste the text into another program the characters are cut as well. It also doesn't matter if i use the keyboard shortcut or the mouse to copy the text. Sometimes if i select the placeholder text in the target graphic and paste the new text some characters of the placeholder text are left at the end. It seems to be the same problem.

Guess:
Premiere Pro has trouble when selecting text. It marks the whole text (visually) but doesn't tread it as completely marked (under the hood).

Known issue for 24.2.1

Revert to previous version or use the beta.

Please next time include Premiere version and build, OS and comp specs.

Sam,

Try pasting in the Graphics tab instead of the Program Monitor? That worked until it didn't work at all..... Hmm.

Here's the problem Ann is referring to. See the workaround there.

I'm using 24.2.1 (build 2) on Win 11, Intel i7 Gen 10, nvidia RTX 2070 super

But I'm not trying to select/mark the text in the program monitor. I'm using the graphics tab of the text window (next to the subtitles).

Can you try this out in the current Premiere Pro Beta? I think we have fixed this. If it is still a problem, and you include the specific strings you have before and after the paste? There were some issues with certain unicode sequences which we think we have resolved, but if we missed some we want to know.
