Projects Containing MOGRTs No Longer Render

There is a serious problem with PP 24.5: it will not render any project that contains ANY MOGRT file. I have created a test file with a single Sequence. The only thing in the sequence is a MOGRT file. Playback works fine, but when I try to render, the app crashes part of the way through. If I create the project file WITHOUT the MOGRT, it renders fine, even long files with 25 or 30 minutes of video.

This only started happening after I upgraded to the latest version of PP, however, even when I rollback to previous versions, I'm seeing the same behavior.

I have double checked all my graphics drivers and everything else I can think of. I have also cleared my cache, uninstalled and reinstalled PP, made sure I have the latest Windows 11 Pro updates, and rebooted my computer several times. I have also cleared out all my old preferences, and done all of the things that are always recommended.

I even tried installing the latest Beta version of PP and I still see the exact same result.

Bottom line, PP will no longer render any project containing MOGRTs--even projects that I had previously saved and rendered in the past.

Please fix this right away.

Thank you.

The problem only happens when I try to render/export, as I explained before and demonstrated in my video.

I'll save you the trouble: - <<The fact that my project does not crash on your system does not mean that the problem does not exist.>>

I just thought I'd add, that I fired it up, and it worked right away. I then added another mogrt, no issue.

Then I rendered, (IE: Render = from the Sequence Menu), then I Exported, the issue you are having problems with.

Your video made it clear your problem is actually in Exporting. Can you render or same issue?

Many times, I don't get the error dialog box, it just crashes unceremoniously. However, I created a video to show you what was happening on my screen, and it actually generated the error dialog box this time, to which I added my email address.

You can watch the video here: https://app.screencast.com/7OsJkQ28MWKvD

My projects are all stored on an internal hard drive on my machine. I don't imagine my filenames are any longer than normal. In any event, I can't imagine that this would be the cause of a very specific MOGRT problem.

I don't know anything about "scratch disks", can't find anything in the preferences.

Hi @Soulancipation,

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reproduce the crash from the file, so let's hit this from some other angles.

Do you get the crash dialog when it crashes on you? If so, please add your email address that is associated with your Creative Cloud Account and be sure the check the "Adobe may contact" option. Then Direct Message me your Creative Cloud Account email address.

Can you tell me where your project files are stored (local disk/cloud storage) and if your project files paths are long?

Also, are your Scratch Disks pointed to 'Same as Project' or a different location?

Thanks!
Theresa

MOGRTs have been a problem for a long time. Whatever issue you have keeps reappearing, perhaps in a slightly different guise each time. My experience is FAR from unique.

The fact that my project does not crash on your system does not mean that the problem does not exist.

I can crash ANY prproj file simply by adding ANY MOGRT template into the timeline and trying to render the file. It is 100% repeatable.

Here are a few other reports that people have filed on this platform:

Don't pass the buck! Figure out what is happening here and fix the problem!

I think the forums ate your link, could you try again?
