Text-based editing translating english to foreign languages

Hello,

I'm using TBE on 13 subjects / files in premire. 11 of the subjects transribed into english, but 2 subjects were translated into foreign languages and they were speaking english the whole time. I don't have any other language installed on my computer/program, since I've only been working with english speaking subjects. I've tried to start new projects to load in the file into new settings and each time, the transcript is not in english.

I saw some questions on here similar to this, but didn't see an answer. If I ignore transcripts, it doesn't recognize audio to be transcribed anymore. I cannot "re-transcribe" sequence, it is completely greyed out for me.

Any tips on how to get this file back to english? Thank you in advance.

@Kalie27003246wfm4,

Are you applying enhanced speech before creating the transcription?

Have you ever used the "Enable language auto-detection" in the Transcription preferences? (Even if not, check it.)

I understand you have tried a new project, but this error makes no sense, so let's double-check a simple version:

Create a new project.

Import one of the problem files.

Right-click in the Project Panel, and pick Transcribe. Set the language to English.

What happens?

Hi Stan! Thank you so much for your answer it has helped! I started a new project, selected the file in the Project Panel and right clicking on transcribe, I was able to switch the language back into English. It was set to Swedish and Hindi... I have no idea how that happened to those 2 clips, but that is a useful feature to use in case it comes up again.

I was even able to go back into my original project, Re-Transcribe the source files and they are now in English. Perfect!

Thank you!
