Transcribe in PR 23.4 only transcribes on Track 1/LEFT?

Just installed PR 23.4.  Text to Edit/Auto transcription is only transcribing talking on Track 1 or Left channels.  There used to be an option for what audio to use.  Don't see that now.  We have lots of speaking on other audio channels.  This is a big problem for my organization.

Gerald,

At this point, source media transcription will only look at audio track one.

Workarounds are to modify your source file so the dialogue is track one or to nest the file in a sequence, do a static transcription of that (which gives you control of the track to use) and then you can use that sequence as source.

For the second approach, see this post:

They are working on multiple channel transcription in the Beta version.

The trick I use - create a new sequence from just the clip you want to transcribe, then in the timeline, delete all unnecessary tracks and move the track you want to transcribe to Audio 1. Export that track as a WAV, then pull the new WAV file back in, run transcription on it, drop it under the video in your one-clip sequence (replacing the original clip audio), select the audio and video in your timeline, right-click and select "merge." Now you have a transcribed clip that you don't have to worry about keeping the pieces together through your whole edit.
