I'm finding that when receiving projects from others, and selecting "Offline All" or "Cancel", many of the project items are missing a media path. Many still have them, or even a "Media Path History" that can be seen in an items preferences, which lists paths on the other creators local machines if the items are offine/missing. The file paths are listed in the "Link Media" window when opening, but many are cleared after deciding not to link them in that moment. What could clear them for some and not others? I can't find any export/import settings that would explain clearing some media/file paths (or their history).
The reason I'm asking is because I manage an extension that checks for media paths to differentiate between things like adjustment layers and black video, which never have a media path, and project files that were imported into premiere, which always should have one.
Thanks in advance for any help
That seems plausible. 🙂

There may be more causes for this, but after being suggested this post Media offline with no file path in former team project
I found it to be one case where this happens. Items added to a Team Project before converting to a personal project lost the media path when opening and not directly re-linking media. Items that were added after conversion retained the media path history
