Computer Specs:
Mac Studio (2022)
ChipbApple M1 Max
Memory 64GB
OS: macOS Monterey 12.6.1
We are running Premiere 23.6.0, build 65, and our custom MOGRTS for lower thirds that were in build in the corresponding version of AE is instantly crashing our Premiere.
We have extensively looked through forums to change settings, uninstalled and reinstalled programs and used creative cloud cleaner tool, and also tried importing new simple MOGRTS in new projects and used both custom MOGRTS and premiere default MOGRTS to no avail.
Downgrading Premiere solves this issue or rendering animations with transparency out of AE for a workaround. Although, MOGRTS allow for our workflow to be extremely efficient and save us much needed time to apply elsewhere. It is imperative to for our production to find a solution.
What other troubleshooting or solutions should we try?
Thank you.
Based on the Crash Reports that were submitted by the team, we've identified the cause of the crash as a third-party plugin, Reach Engine on Apple silicon machines. No crashes when the plugin is uninstalled and no crashes on Intel machines.
I've reached out to the Signiant team to try to see if we can get support to resolve the issue.

That's not cool! I'm sorry for all the headaches. The best way to help diagnose this issue is with the assets themselves. Can you please Direct Message me with the individual Mogrt files and a sample Premiere Project so I can try to diagnose on my side. A WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive link is usually the only workaround to the file type limits that can be attached via this forum. Have you been sending in the Crash Reports? If so what email have you listed. This is one of the best tools to see what is going on. So if you haven't done so, please instigate the crash again so I can search for things on my side. Again, DM me so you don't have to put your contact info or IP on here publicly.
A screen recording of you trying to add the Mogrt would also be super helpful. Sometimes, we can catch things like the workspace set-up or other weird things that can give us clues.
Thanks so much,

I am also having the same issue. I have to downgrade to 23.0 in order for our custom MOGRTs to work. Mine doesn't "crash" as-in, shut down. It just completely kills the software, non-responsive as soon as I bring in the customer MOGRT onto my timeline.
I will DM you as well @daciaf . I have been battling this issue for 6+ months and no idea how to remedy it, as we too use a ton of custom MOGRTs to save time from rendering from AE a lot.
Cheers.

Hi C,
That's such a bummer! Thanks for sending me the screen recording. Would it be possible for you to send me a project?
The best way to send your crash reports is to add your email to the Crash Reporter. I can't open the .cr2 file you sent 😞 but I can search our Crash Reporter system for your email and get to the important information. (Please send me the email that you're using to send the crashes).
You did mention that its not crashing per se though... so if the app is totally hung, something that would give us useful info is the Sample Process from Activity Monitor.
When Premiere Pro hangs, open the Activity Monitor, select Premiere Pro, and then use the menu pictures below to save a Sample Process.
Thank you so much,
Dacia

Just for the record, this is still an issue for me. I cannot add custom MOGRTS, nor can I use Mister Horse in Premiere without it "hanging" and me force-quitting it.

Hi Kimera,
I thought re-installing the latest Mr. Horse panel fixed this issue?
Can you try adding Mogrts from the Essential Graphics Panel and not from Premiere Composer?
Can you try and add Mogrts from the Libraries Panel (the native one that comes with Premiere)?
Is the hang resolved when you use the native Premiere panels?
The Sample Process reports you sent us point to an issue with the third-party panel from Mr. Horse. Have you tried to contact them as well?
Thanks,
