Thanks Luis, I understand your question better now. There is no built-in functionality for this, but I can suggest a workaround that should be pretty smooth:

  1. In the Text panel, under the Captions tab, click the 3 dots in the top right corner and choose Export > Export to CSV.
  2. Go to https://en.editingtools.io/marker/ and upload your CSV file. Apply these settings:
    • From: CSV (.csv)
    • Convert To: Adobe Premiere Pro > Sequence with Markers (.xml)
    • Framerate: <your sequence frame rate>
  3. Click Generat

Could you tell us more about what you're trying to do?

  1. How many markers do you have in your timeline? Are they different colors? Do they have comments?
  2. How many clips do you want to add them to? Are they video, audio, or both?

Also, please note that you can't add markers to captions.

Cheers,
Paul

Yes, I can't add captions to markers - but I can add markers to the timeline, exactly where the captions are - one by one - so that later, after I record the voice overs, I can "automate"the clips to the markers, instead of me dragging them one by one.

im thankful for the atuomate function, however, I wish I could add multiple markers to the timeline all at the same time, to where the captions are.

Since the automate function already exists (it automatically adds clips to where the markers are) - i think it also makes sense to add markers to where the captions are - or better yet - automate to where the captions are instead of markers.

basically, I want to automatically put my imported voice over clips exactly where it is supposed to go.  like tell my audio files to "go find your own captions"

Thanks Luis, I understand your question better now. There is no built-in functionality for this, but I can suggest a workaround that should be pretty smooth:

  2. Go to https://en.editingtools.io/marker/ and upload your CSV file. Apply these settings:
    • From: CSV (.csv)
    • Convert To: Adobe Premiere Pro > Sequence with Markers (.xml)
    • Framerate: <your sequence frame rate>
  3. Click Generate and then Download.
  4. Import the XML file back into your Premiere project - this will import a sequence with markers and a Marker Color Matte in the timeline.
  5. Turn on Markers > Copy Paste includes Sequence Markers.
  6. Copy the Marker Color Matte and paste it into your Captions timeline. This will copy the markers over.
  7. After this, you can delete the Marker Color Matte from your Captions sequence and run Automate To Sequence.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
Paul

holy cow. Thanks for this Paul. I have not tried it, but I have worked with CSVs in Premiere before, and so my confidence in your tip is high! Thank you thank you so much!
