Using Premiere Pro 2017 in Windows 7 pro, and I'm a beginner user.
I'm going mad over adding a transition: I've cut a clip using the razor in the timeline. It runs right into the next piece of the clip, just as intended, but theres a slight jump in the characters position as one clip runs into the next.
I thought the obvious thing is to add a transition to smooth over the jumpiness of the cut. Only when I add the cross dissolve Premiere brings back in some audio I'd already cut, making the transition useless to me.
When I have no transition, the audio is perfect, but the visual has that obvious-and-expected jump as one moves to the next, but add the transition, and the visual is a smooth transition but this infuriating audio section 'comes back' for a fraction of a second... searched everywhere and can't find an answer - please save my sanity with a suggestion or some advice? thanks Chris
Add the Transition only as a Video Transistion.

As a workaround, try cutting to and from b-roll instead of using the cross dissolve. It might even look better.

Thanks Peru Bob - I didn;t know what B-roll was but saw some tutorials and can see how it could be useful in some cases. It isn't in this one as I'm chopping mid sentence, but I appreciate the tip for future!
