I thought we used adjustment layers when we wanted a global change,
like everything darker, etc. Well, It still only adjusts every clip individually, even tho the layer covers ALL the clips? thanks

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

Then try pressing Enter to render the timeline and turn the red line above the timeline to green.

ok that works. What does the green timeline mean? Should we always seek to have it>?

Green means it plays back without rendering.
Yellow means playback that should be good enough.
Red means playback will drop frames - need to use proxies or render out this portion.
Hitting enter will render out the red parts.

yes, that's NLE 101. Every NLE shows this slightly differently but they all do it
