Hi there,

While editing a video, after 1 hour mark i get "A low-level exception occured in: Adobe Player (Player:55) error. I'm using v14.6 and tried going back to 14.5, tried software only rendering, tried cleaning my cache, deleting previews.

Any tips or solutions?

AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

16GB Ram

Windows 10 Pro - 20H2

Nvidia GF 980ti

Sequence: 2880x1440, 25 fps

Both of the renderer choice have the same outcome.

Going back to 14.0.4 solves it btw.

Hello,

Im still getting this problem in 2021. Have adobe come up with a fix on this? Feels like it happens on bigger projects where there are alot of assets.

Would appreciate a reponse on this topic from an Adobe expert!

can't help unless we have all the requested info (and even then, it's never easy to diagnose remotely)...

What are your source properties and sequence settings.  If you need help figuring out this info, post back.  You might also tell us where your sources come from.  If any of your sources are from screen recordings or shot on a smartphone, the problem may be that you have clips with variable frame rates...  do a quick search here for the solution or post back and I'll fill you in.

I pretty much scan all the posts here and can't remember ever having seen this problem which probably points to either something specific to your hardware/software, or something unusual in your workflow.

You might try "smart rendering"

Hi!

this was actually very helpful since this is screen recording. But as far as I can tell, I screenrecord specifically at 25 FPS and I shoot at 25 FPS.

Source properties and screen recording are the same as the video since what I do is that I create a sequence from my video properties. That way there should be 100% no issue withe sequenece I suppose?

I will check out the link you made and I will post back if I find out something. Thanks.

variable frame rate sources can cause intermittent, unpredictable issues in Premiere.  Smart rendering may not fix the problem.

use mediainfo to determine whether your source is variable or constant frame rate

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

if it's variable use handbrake to convert to constant frame rate

https://handbrake.fr
and here's a tutorial on how to use handbrake

Post back if you have any questions.

Hi!

Thanks!

It should be constant frame rate since thats what I choose in my software. And I know about handbrake and such, but I will investigate a little more. If you believe player 55 has to do with frame rate, atleast I have somthing to work with.

I have no idea what the error you're reporting has anything to do with frame rate, but it can't hurt to do some troubleshooting.

what software are you using to generate your screen recordings?  The vfr issue is hard to predict but as a troubleshooting step, it can't hurt to convert your source files to a more robust format.  h264 and all mpeg formats are processor intensive and an all i-frame format like prores (even though I work on both macs and windows, most of my experience is on the mac) will usually provide a better editing experience...  We've seen many posts here with people experience issues with video generated by OBS even though mediainfo reports a constant frame rate...

Hi 🙂

whats the meaning with an error code if the code doesnt point to a specific range of issues?

its just that ive been a user for a LONG time and its always like this with premiere that all of a sudden something happens that hasnt happened before, and I have changed nothing. Usually after updates, but now it happened anyway.

i will investigate further but i suspect it has something to do with the screen recording. And if i could guess i think its a flaw in the premiere software and not in the file itself.

thank you for all help though! I appreciate it

Usually I use the screen recorded video because it is easier to edit and it saves me time, but now I wanted to try to edit the source file itself along side the camera video. So FYI Im using  2x videos in the same frame.

However, unfortunately, it doesnt work without screen recording either. ITs so weird. Everything works fine until i get 25-30 min into the project then it starts with the error. And after the error arrives, it give me error almost every time i cut and ripple delete a part of the video. ANd so I ahve to quick save, exit and go back into the project. Do 1 ripple delete, it all hangs again. Over and over. Like the last 5 minutes of the video takes FOREVER to complete because of this.

So annoying. DO you have any other ideas? Im almost 100% sure this is a consequence of your adobe update. SInce this never happened before as far as I can remember.!
