Adobe Premiere transition

Ok hello Adobe community! Um, I have an issue with my project. I want to use cross dissolve transition, but when I put said transition into place, I hit play and nothing happens. it may as well be nonexistant.

I'm pretty sure I applied it right, and I don't get any error messages. I hit play to see how it looks and there's just... no transition. It's like I didn't even put one on. This is really frustrating and I just need some advice. Thanks!

The red line indicates that your sequence needs rendering at the dissolve point and Premiere Pro may not be able to play the dissolve in real time unrendered. Try rendering that section of your sequence and see if the dissolve then works.

- set an in and out point either side of the dissolve and then click the sequence menu > render in to out
