Grey,
I'm having almost exactly the same issue as you and verified that i did not update any graphic drivers, only premiere. The only variance that i can see is that some of my media files have randomly become unlinked and when i try to relink the files, i get the following error:
And after the link is complete, there is no audio. Also, when i re-import the files they have no audio even though the audio plays as intended in VLC etc.
Were you able to resolve your issue?
Thank you.

Close Premiere Pro. Open Media Encoder. Find and open the MP4 file you're having issues with. Re-encode the file using Media Encoder. Import the re-encoded file into Premiere Pro. Worked like a champ for me, though it's a pain the a$$ to have to do such workarounds every freaking update... just saying.

This did not work for me. I am using Windows 10, a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 TI, i have downgraded the GPU driver to the May version (previous) . I have tried all of the suggestions on this thread with the media cached folder. Still no luck.

What version specifically are you running. There are problems with any 368.xx version. Try 365.19.

This didn't work for me.
But I did find that if I import the problem file via Media Browser, it imports correctly with both video and audio.

For me the solution was simply to create a copy of the problematic video file and adding it to PP with a new name - and voila, the sound track is there. It could be also helpful to clean up the media cache, databases, etc. I am on the latest PP 2015.3.
It seems like once PP gets a file in and it's messed up, you can't undo it, so you need to trick PP into thinking it's a different file to make it process it again.

This didn't work for me on Windows 8.1. What worked was importing them through the Media Browser, like James P. Brady mentioned.
I really hope Adobe will come with a bugfix soon, clearing out the issues.

I'm having the same issue, although I'm not trying to render video game footage.
I updated my Premiere CC to 2015.3 and when I imported a video I recorded on my camcorder earlier, the audio doesn't come up. I tried encoding the video via Adobe Media Encoder, but the video shows up within the software as having "no audio"; yet, when I play the video on the "Movies & TV" Windows 10 app on my laptop, the audio can be heard just fine. Is there any way around this? I really don't want to have to use Windows Movie Maker to render this video.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jkeit,
If you recorded screen capture video, you may need to demux the audio to monitor both channels of audio. See if this article assists you: How To Extract Audio Out of Video Files Losslessly and Fast | Gizmo's Freeware
Thanks,

I was having the same problem using Windows 8.1 and Grey's solution worked. Renaming the Media Cache folder didn't work, and neither did importing via the Media Browser.

What do you rename the media cache folder to?

Renaming is just a "short cut" to what many of us do, and that is deleting all the files in the two Media Cache folders on a regular biases, If you want to just rename to "Old Media Cache" but that does not help keeping your disk clean and mean.
All the necessary and possibly corrupted files are automatically regenerated next time you run the project.

I found a similar problem on what is basically a new PC with a clean install of CC PPro. I dragged a video from Bridge which had been shot on a Lumix G7, and get the same issue, no audio. Reading this thread, I tried to input using Media Browser, and this time get audio with the video
No idea why, can anyone explain, or reproduce?

Dragging content is a bad habbit.

Hello Ann
I would agree, as I've noted similar issues in the past, but would still like to know why its so if anyone understands. It might also help me work out another bridge related issue I'm having, where I cannot see mpeg thumbnails in Bridge. Little foibles like this might help point me in the right direction to help sort that out
Thanks

When dragging you are not always bringing in the metadata.
No seeing mpeg thumbnails is a whole different matter.

So dragging can lose metadata, thanks. I've a separate post in the Bridge section re the mpegs

After going through all the suggestions I found that closing the project, renaming the folder with, in my case the GoPro, footage and reopening the project did the trick. Premiere located the files and linked automatically without prompt. Insert comment on Adobe quality control here..

I had the same issue, this is what worked for me:
Take the videos out of my project,
Close down programs,
In the Roaming/Adobe/Common folder...
Deleted contents of 'Anywhere Cache', 'Media Cache' & 'Media Cache Files' folders,
Renamed the Media Cache folder to 'Rename'.
Open Premiere Pro and re-import the videos.
I didn't restart the PC or touch the PTX folder.

Hi everyone (again). I made a tutorial as to how to fix this issue and then did my research into the subject. If anyone is interested about this issue and why my tutorial fixed it, please check out this video -
