All Timecode is Wrong

I received a project from an outside editor and when I opened it up and linked the media I found that every clips timecode is wrong within the sequence. I tried making media offline and relinking to make absolutely sure that everything was linked correctly and it is. The right clips are in the sequence, but the in and out points are wildly inaccurate.

I'm running PPro 13.0.2

Just to be clear, are you saying that all of the clips within the timeline are playing the wrong section of the source clip? When you say the "in and out points" are inaccurate, are you referring to the edit points within a sequence?

I know you said you checked, but make sure you are relinking to the exact same source files that the previous editor was using. When you have the Link Media dialog box open, do you have "Align Timecode" checked?

Yeah exactly. The clips are linked correctly but are showing the wrong section of the clip in the sequence.

I had this happen once when an editor modified the clip timecodes manually after importing. I believe the solution was offline all the footage, and select all > "Relink Footage", in the relink window checking (or unchecking) the "Align Timecode" option. Let me know if that fixes it for you.

I've tried a couple different variations of this and unfortunately nothing has worked.

Are you sure they're linked to the right files? I've had projects where I have several footage files with the same name, but from different days, etc..

Yeah, we run all of our media through Automator and rename based on camera so all of the file names are unique. Like I said above, it's linked to the correct clip, it's just not representing the correct portion of that clip in the sequence. For instance, a clip from a 30 minute interview is shifted back to the interviewers question or just a completely other portion of the interview.

Okay, can you offline the footage, reset the timecode interpretation (in case it's been changed manually) on the clips in Premiere, then try re-linking?
