Anything I import into 2017 that was exported from AE is locking up the program

I have tried exporting a comp in multiple codecs and every time I try working with the clip in premiere, the system bugs out. It will import fine, but once I take it in the source monitor, drag it to a new timeline, or try working with it in a pre existing one, Premiere starts bugging out graphically and becomes unusable. I can't scale the timeline, moving the cti with the mouse doesn't work,. The project is very new and doesnt have a lot of clips on the timeline.

EDIT: So it's also happening if I send it to Media Encoder from AE. ....

Dynamic Link won't work here?

I didn't try it, but regardless it's bizarre this is happening. I went back to 2015.3 and it works fine in there.

It is odd.  Dynamic Link seems like the simplest fix.
