The Project that I was working on has become unusable due to a software upgrade
In the Original file: I had cut the audio track in multiple places to lower the Db's to get rid of random background conversations making a more professional video to give to the client
When I opened the file back up after the software upgrade this morning, Premier Pro was unable to see the audio and link it to the video.
I have already tried:
Is there a solution to find and link the files together?
Thank you
Thank you Jim_Simon
I was able to use your help to get the project back.
It has been compiled and you have saved me a days work.

Premiere Pro will never update itself. That can only happen if you push the right buttons.
So...what exactly was updated this morning?

The update went from version 2015.04 to 2017 (not sure if 2017 has a version no as ive gone back to version 2015.4 hoping that would allow me to gain access to my work)
Was not an automatic update was just a recommended update that I had when turned on the comp this morn. So I said yes and then the folder/ file/ project I was working on became corrupted.
Any suggestions?

It is recommended to finish a project in the version in which it was created.
You can install the old version

You can also try deleting the media cache and media cache files and importing the old project into a new one.

I figured that converting to the original version was preferred which is why it was one of the 1st things that I did.
I tried deleting the media cache but still did not fix the problem.

Use your backup files and project.

With Premiere Pro closed, rename the folder containing the media. When you reopen the project, PP will ask you where the media is. Tell it.

Glad I could help.
You should mark my answer as Correct, though, so other readers with the same issue will see that answer at the top, rather than your thanks.
