so basically, the video and audio is synced fine when not in premiere pro, but when its in premiere pro, the audio seems to be ahead at the start and then by the end it is behind the video. The video appears to be sped up. I am quite new to premiere pro, so please ask if there is more information i should provide. thank you very much!
Hi Maxime,
Nice game stream there. OBS? If it is a video stream you captured, your file probably has what is called a "variable frame rate," which makes the clip go rather haywire in Premiere Pro. You can "fix" this file by copying it back to H.264 using free/shareware I like called, Shutter Encoder.: https://www.shutterencoder.com/en/
Place the resulting file back into the Timeline and everything should play in sync once more. If your computer is over a few years old. and won't play the conve

Years after these other community posts, I have the same problem, and I am using Creative Cloud Premiere Pro 2025. I recorded two different videos recently with my Canon Vixia video camera and recorded separate audio with Tascam podcasting equipment. When I checked the Canon footage with Windows Media Player, the audio and video are perfectly synced. In Premiere Pro 2025, the audio and visual are off when I view the footage in the Program Monitor window. What the heck happened with this recent "upgrade"? My plan was to strip out the Canon audio and replace it with the Tascam audio-- something I have done easily many times in previous versions of Premiere Pro. Each Premiere upgrade adds more glitches to a program that used to work well a few years ago. It's really hard to sync the Tascam audio when the original audio appears to be off. I regret the automated upgrade from 2024 to 2025. Now what do I do?
