Audio cuts of if I open Premier Pro

Audio levels are stable, Windows volume is fine etc etc
But whenever I open Adobe Premiere Pro all my audio on computer stops and neither works in the Premiere Pro.
If I open browser and fold Premiere Pro audio works in browser.
If I listen to a song while Premiere Pro is unfolded audio doesn't play.
What a weird problem, I have searched through the forum but didn't find any answers.
Thank you!

It's a setting in your OS, allowing programs to take total control of audio. For most editors this is clearly preferred.

So check the settings in the OS for audio and also for running programs. I forgot where it's at in a PC, but it's there somewhere.

Found the place in Win10 ... easiest process:

  • Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware
  • Click on the oval "Settings" box in the middle of the panel
  • On the Playback tab, click the output you wish to change
  • Click "Properties" in the lower right corner
  • In Speaker Properties box, deselect "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device".
