Hi there,

When I import my audio, I can sync it with my video - but after 15 minutes into the video it drifts about 12 frames. I am new-ish to Premier so would love some ideas on what to do..

Here is some info:

Premier sequence settings: 48K audio, 25fps

Video file: 25fps - no variable frame rate detected

external audio file  - exported from Cubase 25fps session, 48 k/24bit

Adobe Pro 23.2

Macbook Pro version 12.5

Thank you!

The easiest way to fix it is to use the rate stretch tool to drag the length of the audio to the correct length.

As to why it is out of sync, was the audio recorder locked to the camera, all free running devices will drift some more than others.

Your footage was probably recorded in a variable frame rate. I recommend taking your footage into the free app HandBrake and converting it to a format with a fixed/constant frame rate. Then import the new footage into Premiere.

As suggested by RobShultz, it may be VFR.  Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot of the properties of your media in tree view:

Many users are having issues with VFR. If the file is variable frame rate, use Handbrake to convert to constant frame rate:

Shutter Encoder may also be used to convert to Constant Frame Rate:
