Audio sync in Premiere pro

I'm in the learning phase with Premiere pro and I haven't yet found any good info on this topic.

I shot an event with three cameras and an audio recorder. I watched a tutorial which said to simply select all of the video and audio tracks on the timeline, right click on them and then click on "Syncronize" in the menu. The trouble is, "Syncronize" is grayed out. What might I be doing wrong?

Manual Multi-Camera Method

That's very time consuming especially when 2 of the three cameras were not running continuously.

I did find that if I have just one or two cameras and the audio recorder file in the sequence, it works perfectly; I select them all, right click, click on "Syncronize" and it works perfectly.

But with multiple clips from 3 cameras and the audio recorder, "Syncronize" is grayed out.

Could it be a RAM issue? I only have 8GB RAM.

I know there are some third party apps such as Plural Eyes, but before I buy it, I'd like to know if it works any better than what Premiere has already built into it?

2 of the three cameras were not running continuously.

In that case, the manual method is the only one that will work, as PP assumes one clip per camera for the auto methods.

You can use PluralEyes to speed the process up. I find version 4, which works as a plug-in right inside PP, to be very effective.
