Deep freakin' breath....hours, seriously hours.

OK, this worked great last week but, now it does not work and I am unable to find the solution.

Issue:

New project > import green screen video w/ audio > import image background.png

Drag background.png to timeline 1

Drag video w/ audio to timeline 2 | audio does NOT show up on audio track (this is the biggy!)

AND greenscreen process does not work (already figured out the buggy picker so that's not it)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Tried:

* Reversed the process / video w/ audio on timeline 1 > background.png to timeline 2 > then shifted the tracks around but the greenscreen process does not work.

* Used a previous project substituting the video w/ audio track and it does not work either.

>>>>>>

I could really use some help here. I have no more hair to pull out!

~Thx

Source patching is easy to skip or not notice, and you may need to check that you have an audio track targeted for Source (incoming to timeline) work.

Look at my image ... the left side blue blocks?

Those are "source" targeting for PrPro. They tell PrPro where to put ... IF to put ... video and audio. You select those by clicking on them.

Your image doesn't have any blue blocks for Source targeting set. So PrPro thinks you're tellling it not to bring it to the timeline.

I appreciate your response but I'm sorry, I do not know what that means.

The screenshot was helpful so I clicked on the V1 and then I was able to bring the video+audio over to the track necessary for the "ultra key".

But now I'm not getting the background to overlay.

Do not understand, why would settings change when it worked before? Does this happen alot in Pr?

My goal is to create a template so I can streamline my very basic editing needs.

~ Thank you

Original issue:

  • If I bring the video file over in track one first, the audio follows. However, if I bring the background image to track 1 and bring the video to track 2 the audio dissapears.
  • If I bring the video file over to track 2, the audio follows. However, if I bring the background image to track 1 the "ultra key" does not work.
  • Error Msg: "This clip deoes not match the sequence's settings. Change sequence to match the clips settings?"

Thanks Neil, I appreciate your help.

I will look into "source targeting". Unsure how I might have "selected" it in a prior project and not this one.

I've been watching hours of tutorials but when it comes to specific challenges it can be difficult to formulate a question that will provide information to move forward.

~Thanks again, Padraig

Padraig,

These video post apps are all complex and complicated. And there are always so many freaking things you can easily do to yourself and cause hours of struggles to 'solve' some eventually silly little thing.

Like ... how many of us have toggled global effects mute off/on to check something, and ... left it off.

Then couldn't figure out why our color corrections weren't working! Yep, done that one on occasion.
