Audio tracks missing from timeline but still audible in sequence???

I created a 5-minute sequence and everything was great.  Then I wanted to fade out the audio track... and I could not find it.  It's obviously in the sequence because I can hear it.  But it's nowhere on the timeline.  I watched several videos on timeline navigation, figuring there must be an easy way to reveal the audio tracks, but no luck.  I tried all the navigation tips and I still saw no audio tracks, not even a blank one. The entire timeline consists of video tracks, although there are obviously audio tracks because I can hear them in playback mode.

I tried all the navigation tricks, including scrolling and holding the control key to move up and down -- but the bottom of the timeline just just shows video tracks, no audio tracks.

How can I get the timeline to show me the audio tracks?

How many audio tracks on your timeline do you have? Use the scroll bar on the far right and make sure everything is showing, you should be able to see the audio then.

The scroll bar on the right does not reveal any audio tracks. It just expands the video tracks.

Do you have A1, A2, A3 tracks? The bar on the right, on the audio side (the bottom 2) and drag the bottom one down in case you're not seeing all your tracks.

I think there are maybe two total audio tracks.

I don't see any A1, A2, or A3. Just V1, V2, and so forth.

You don't have any audio tracks? I think you always have to have at least one. Can you take a screenshot of your timeline?

Thanks, Richard and Jeff.

I finally got the audio tracks to appear by making sure that I hovered the cursor over the bottom of the bottom-most video track and dragging up.

That was the only thing that did it.  Control-scrolling did not reveal the entire timeline as I thought it would.  Neither did moving the scroll lines by hovering over the points and dragging.

I've attached a diagram to show how I finally got the audio track to appear on the timeline.
