Hi,

I have created a 1 minute promo clip and would like to have it at around <1 mb but still retain some quality.

At this size, I would expect it to only be viewed on mobile devises.

What would be the best format and settings for this?

TIA

For the best export settings for a low-resolution clip, use the following:

  • Format: H.264
  • Under Bitrate Settings, lower the Target Bitrate until the Estimated File Size is less than 1 MB.

You can refer to this guide for more detailed information on export settings: Export Settings in Premiere Pro.

Thanks Paul.

I have tried your suggestion and am getting it down to 2MB but once exported, the clip is 97MB. I tried it on Low bitrate and had the same result.

Do you know why it's doing this?

Cheers.

Hey Greg,

The size approximation might not always be accurate for the exported file size. Premiere Pro will only compress the video up to a certain point. I recommend encoding the exported file again using a high-compression web codec like AV1. This can be done using software like Shutter Encoder (https://adobe.ly/3ZGKGhl).

Thanks,

Ishan
