Big difference in quality between project and export

There's a massive difference in quality when I export and my shadows barely show. Even when I max out all the settings, max depth, max profile, level, etc...

What could cause this? I am not familiar with these problems and I think it's got to do with the sequence settings or the resolution, what should I check?

I tried a few export settings such as matching the sequence settings but they didn't improve the quality.

Here's a screenshot of the clear difference side to side: Gyazo - 35323e062c976334d83867cfb4526cd2.png

Hi SlywolfTA,

Sorry that you have this issue!

Which format are you exporting in?

Have you applied any effects (that use the GPU)?

I think this is something to do with the GPU not rendering the effects properly.

Try this:

  • Go to File > Project Settings > General and change the Video Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine software only. Click OK and select Delete Previews. This way we are not using the GPU to generate previews.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Rameez

I tested it with VLC, also with the windows default movies viewer. And I also tried the exported file with premiere itself, and in all cases the shading quality is way worse after export.
