Black frames around video - have tried it all! help

Hi all,

I know there are a lot of questions out there when it comes to black bars around exported video clips, and I have followed every advice but nothing works šŸ˜ž

I am very new to Premiere Pro and I know it takes time to learn, but this is becoming very frustrating, I already spent more than 5 hours trying to fix it but the black bars remain in every video I try...

I tried sequence settings, scaling, positioning, changing requirements when I export, Set to frame ect.. but as I mentioned the result stays the same.

see below the file in Premiere Pro and then exported as video with black at the sides.

Anyone has advice on this?

Thanks so much in advance!

Thank you so much!1.JPG2.JPG

It seems that what you’re outputting is a custom size not the same size at rectangle as video output formats. Unfortunately, because of this, it’s going to be tough to find another solution.

Click anywhere in your timeline, then go to the menu Sequence > Settings and post a screen shot of your Sequence Settings.

Next, post a screen shot of your Export Settings Summary, like this example below:

Your sequence is set to a (non-standard) 1080x1710 frame size at a (non-standard) frame rate of 29.99 fps.

You are exporting it to a different frame size that has a different aspect ratio.

The short answer is to do as  RobShultz suggests and check the box for Match Sequence Settings:

then export and determine if the file that results is what you want and is suitable for your purpose.

Hi,

thanks gusy, I tried it but then the file gets huge and I can only open it with VLC Media player, which still shows black bars, but not sure whether that is because of VLC or because they are actually there.

Not sure what format it is, I need these videos for Instagram, so this doesn't work šŸ˜ž44.JPG

You need to find out what Instagram expects to receive for properly playable content.

I did a quick google search, but most of the results were for specs for Ads on instagram.

Once you have those specs, you can export your timeline to the appropriate  format and pixel dimensions required.

Please try clicking ā€œMatch Sequence Settingsā€ in the output panel before exporting.
