Blackmagicdesign Decklink Mini Monitor

Hello,

We just set up a new system that has a Blackmagicdesign DeckLink Monitor card with HDMI out.

Where do we make changes within Premiere Pro to allow the editing software output to display with this card?

Premiere Pro is running on a Windows 11 (64 bit) operating system if that makes a difference.

Thank you, I had looked there earlier and am not seeing any indication that Premiere Pro detects the DeckLink device (see attached image).

Meanwhile, another editing program I've used (Newtek's SpeedEDIT) readily detects the DeckLink card and works flawlessly with it.

Not sure what the issue is.

Did you install the drivers to the card? If not, that´s why Premiere Pro not find the card.

Latest version is Desktop Video 12.7.1 and can be found here: Support Center | Blackmagic Design

Within the Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup, under "About", it apppears to have version 12.7.1 (see attached image).

So the drivers seems to be installed. Did you install Premiere Pro first and the drivers second? If one install the drivers first and then Premiere Pro at least older cards did never show up. So Premiere Pro first and the drivers second is the way to go.

On our new editing worksation, the BlackMagic drivers had indeed been installed first after the computer was build and configured. Even so, Grass Valley's edius AND Newtek's SpeedEDIT (installed later) both displayed normally via the BM card, just not Premiere Pro.

However Premiere Pro having been installed last must overwright, or in some way ignore the BM driver. So as you suggested, re-installing the latest Black Magic driver worked.

Averdahl and a few others have the best help for BM cards in Premiere. Unfortunately, BM isn't all that helpful about issues within Premiere ... go figure, right? ... ahem ... 

I work for/with/teach pro colorists, mostly based in Resolve, right? But a lot of the projects that they work on come outta Premiere. So they need to have it loaded, and know how to massage projects out of Premiere so they can conform into Resolve.

And naturallly, their reference monitors mostly run on BM output devices. So ... I hear about all the issues they have trying to get Premiere and their BM cards/software playing well together.

A few are rather ... ahem ... connected, one could say ... with BM devs. And even they can't get much help at freaking all about this.

Yea ... there's a lot of frustrations there.

It's working now! As Averdahl suggested, re-installing the latest Black Magic Design drivers "after" the Premiere Pro installation worked.
