Blank screen after "This project was saved from a previous version of Adobe Premiere Pro"

When I click 'OK' to convert a project from v13.1.5 (2019) to v14 (2020), it goes to a blank screen. I have to end task in Task Manager to exit out the app - it just freezes. 

Has this happened to anyone else? Any fixes?

A possible workaround: Create a new project, then try opening the previous project using the open project command from the file menu. If that does not work try importing the previous project using the media browser into a new project.
