I am filming a podcast with three cameras, and running audio through a seperate soundboard. I have just been editing the video after the podcast happens in a Multi-Camera Source Sequence, which works super well, but it takes as long as the podcast itself; usually about 1 hour. This is because I am switching which camera is showing (Ex. Cam 1 on speaker 1, speaker1 finishes and speaker 2 begins. therefore I should switch to Cam 2).
I am wondering if I can run my cameras through Premiere Pro during the podcast and do this scene change editing live? This would save me a lot of time.
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
You can't do it live during recording, but you can do it live in your timeline.
1. Click the Settings wrench in the Program Monitor and switch to Multi-Camera. 2. Press play on your timeline. 3. As your timeline plays, either click the angle you want to switch to in the Program Monitor or use the shortcut keys 1-9.
After you stop playback, all your edits will be added to the timeline.
However, what you're describing doesn't sound like it needs to be done live - it sounds like it could be automated. If there's no bleed in the microphones, you can use silence detection to do the edits for you.
