can open a project from Premiere 2022 and save in Premiere2023, but if I create a new project...

and try importing either the 2022 project or the 2023 project I get an error message (see attached screen grab).  Having all sorts of issues and wondering if this particular error is a manifestation of some underlying issue... And fwiw, I just reset preferences and reset caches and then tried importing (which took a lot longer) and got the same error. Screen Shot 2023-03-03 at 12.13.57 PM.png

this was  from the job from hell where the client had named files and folders with dates using forward slashes that caused intermittent issues...  When I pointed out the problem (and its root) he fired me...  I'm pretty sure there was another thread that followed that particular unpleasant adventure...   In the trouble shooting process I think I opened the projects on my home computer without the media, and then did a save as which allowed him to get back to work...
