Can you play music synced from main timeline while editing inside nested sequence?

Please advise if you have a better method of what I am trying to do.

I am trying to make a music video incorporating nested sequences because my main timeline has too many layers of footage that makes it very hard to work with on the screen and also keep track of groups of footage.

My main sequence timeline would have the music in track 1. My main sequence timeline would also have for example nested sequences like introSEQ, VerseSEQ, BridgeSEQ, OutroSEQ. I am considering incorporating multi-cam but for now, I would like to know if there is a feature that will allow me to do the following:

-I double click to open my VerseSEQ to edit it. When I press play in the VerseSEQ, I would also like the music in my main sequence timeline to play corresponding to the correct position of where my verse is. That way, when I am editing the footage in the verseSEQ, I am able to check whether the verse footage are still in sync with the music.

At the moment, the only possible way to do this, is to make sure my verseSEQ starts at the same timeline as the main and import a copy of the music into the verseSEQ. I would like it to work like how it is with music sequencers like Apple Logic Studio, where when you go inside a folder to edit and play, the music outside the folder still plays.

Example

A) Main timeline

Video 3.......................................................................................[<--outro starts....-->]

Video 2 ........................................[<--verseSEQ starts.........-->]

Video 1[<--introSEQ starts......-->]

Audio 1[<--music starts..........................................................................................-->]

B) Inside verseSEQ timeline

Video 3.................................[<--band playing clip....-->]

Video 2 ..........................................[<--vocalist singing clip...-->]

Video 1[<--dancing clip...-->]

Audio 1........................................................................................

So I could be editing example B to do some transition effects with the band playing clip but I am able to know if what I am editing is in sync with the music from the main timeline because once I press play, the music in Audio 1 from the main timeline does not play as well.

The only way at the moment is to do the following, which is to copy Audio 1 into my verseSEQ like this but make sure my verSEQ starts on the main timeline at the very beginning so that the music is in sync:

Example

A) Main timeline

Video 3.......................................................................................[<--outro starts....-->]

Video 2[<--verseSEQ starts..................................................-->]

Video 1[<--introSEQ starts......-->]

Audio 1[<--music starts..........................................................................................-->]

B) Inside verseSEQ timeline

Video 3................................................................[<--band playing clip....-->]

Video 2 ..........................................................................[<--vocalist singing clip...-->]

Video 1...............................[<--dancing clip...-->]

Audio 1[<--copy of music starts.............................................................................-->]

There must be a better way to do this? Is there like a feed or button option to select whether certain tracks from the main timeline can play while editing inside a nested sequence??

Thank you.

I would also like the music in my main sequence timeline to play corresponding to the correct position of where my verse is.

That's just not possible.

Definitely look into multicam.

Thanks Jim.

Looks like making the multicam sequence clip the same length as the main timeline and positioning at the start 0:00 of the maintimeline is the only possible way of having the music available and insync to the main timeline when editing the nested sequence.
