Can you replace files without losing edits?

In the project that I am working on, it randomly decided that the media would become offline. I didn't delete or move the file. I assume it was a glitch. I tried both the Link Media tool and replacing the video. However, this removes the audio track and the cuts and edits I made to the video. If possible, can I get the video back without losing my edits? I don't have the time to re-edit the video entirely.

Hi Aaron

You could reimport your footage into the project. Then Option/Shift drag the clip over the original clip in the timeline to use that media but keep the same in point and duration as the original. You'd have to do this for every clop but it should work.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Thank You, Premier corrected the glitch but I might need this in the future.

Try Step 2H first, and if that doesn't work, Step 2I.
