Sigh. I have go through the forums and tried many of the suggested approaches to listen to audio through headphones for Premier Pro. It works in Rush, it works in Audition, it does not work in Prem Pro. I can see the meter jump up and down (so the software thinks there is audio). The "Test Speakers" feature in Prem Pro works (I get noise generated on left and right channel) so it is able to use the headphones. I have tried different rates, I have tried setting input mic to "None", I have tried every combination of settings I can.
I am running 14.2.0 (build 47) on a Mac with latest OS.
I have never had this problem on Windows. I have to get the project done, so may jump over to Rush instead to get it out the door. But it seems crazy such a simple thing (listen to video on headphones) is so difficult to get working - and a frequent and long time issue in the forums from searching around.

Double check that the system audio also matches the Premiere output, and try turning the mic input to none in Premiere.

Tried lots of combinations, including no audio. Rebooted machine.
Playing an MP3 file in the viewer also does not work.
It is all the more confusing because Audtion and other Adobe products work fine. That makes me think its some button clicked somewhere.
Time to reinstall the software I think - maybe something got corrupted.

Maybe that will do it. You may want to check what the setting is in Audition if that's working, but I'm assuming you've done that already. I think you're on the right track. It's some kind of output discrepancy.
