Hi Ghoulnotokyo,

  • Try clearing the Media cache FAQ: How to clean media cache files? & then importing the mp3 files.
  • If the issue persists, use Adobe Media Encoder or Audition for conversion to .wav or .aif.
  • You can also rename the .mp3 file extension to .wav, which has worked for others.

Let us know what worked for you.

Thanks,

Vidya

Just go and change the file format from mp3 to .wav

Dude just rename it. That works.

Hi Community,

I could not find a recent bug to upvote. It was a little odd, considering it seems a current issue amongst Premiere Pro editors. Can you upvote these bug reports to get some traction on the subject?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi I had problems importing mp3 music onto premiere pro as well. I tried converting it to .wav and .aif as suggested in this chat and that didn't work. Eventually when i convert it to .mp4 that seemed to work. It seems like it works for everyone differently with importing music to premiere pro. You would assume it would be the same all around but apparently not the case, especially for me that is. So glad its working for me now.

LATEST

remember the day vividly; I was all set to put together a stunning video project in Adobe Premiere. I had lined up my footage, crafted a storyboard, and even picked out the perfect background music. However, when I attempted to import my .mp3 files, I was met with an error message that shattered my creative momentum. I frantically scoured the internet for solutions, only to find countless users facing the same frustrating dilemma.

After trying a few common troubleshooting steps—clearing the media cache and restarting the software—I still couldn't get my .mp3 files to import. Just as I was about to throw in the towel, I stumbled upon a thread in the Adobe Community that mentioned converting .mp3 files to more compatible formats like .wav. This sparked a glimmer of hope!

I quickly discovered a user-friendly conversion tool at iformat.io. With just a few clicks, I uploaded my troublesome .mp3 files and converted them to .wav format. The process was seamless, and before I knew it, the files were ready to use. I returned to Adobe Premiere, imported the newly converted .wav files, and they worked perfectly!

This simple conversion not only saved my project but also restored my enthusiasm. I realized that sometimes, the solution is just a few clicks away. If anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation, I highly recommend giving iFormat a try. It worked wonders for me!
