Caption tracks disappearing

Community Beginner ,

I've been editing two tracks of captions on a short video on my iMac (Sequoia 15.7.1) in Premiere Pro 25.5.0.  I save the project many times during editing.  After closing the project, most of the time when I open it again, one of my captions tracks has disappeared.  Today, I opened the file once and both tracks were back, but not in my edited form.  I now export the captions tracks after some editing to save them.  What gives?

@David_Crump7174,

I don't recall others reporting this.

The captions are saved in the project file; if there is a caption track created in a sequence, they do not just delete themselves. I wonder if they are hidden?

In the Timeline, top left of the header area, click on the CC icon. If there is no caption track, nothing happens. (It is greyed out.) If there is a caption track, pick "Show all caption tracks."

But you also report an instance of the edits not being saved. I'm not arguing there's not a bug, just that it is more likely there's some otehr problem.

I'd look at your workflow and whether there is any chance you're not opening the latest save of the project.

Thank you, Stan.  That was the problem.  Just hidden.

@David_Crump7174,

Excellent. Thanks for reporting back. Did you gain any insight to the missing edits?

LATEST

Well, because previous tracks I worked on were still there and I guess because of which ones I had left active when I closed it, an old track would show up on reopening, not necessarily my latest edited one.  I had like six or seven tracks there that I had recreated, all but one hidden.  If I had even noticed that little "CC" box, I probably would have caught it.  Thanks again!
