I am using Multi-cam and i cant seem to change the names from 'camera 1, camera 2' etc. Its not the end of the world if you are visually seeing all the cameras, but because i am using so many shots i cant really play in real time so i am making the cuts on the timeline and selecting the cameras manually.

When I right click on a cut section i get a whole list of all the cameras, but they are just 'camera 1' etc. Is there a way to rename these so I can easily pick the right shot?

Thanks.. Its a shame there is no option, but i have submitted it to the feature request section.

In the meantime I think I will write a list out manually and have it open while editing or maybe go super old school and use pen and paper

Use this method to create your multi-cam sequence:

Select all the clips that will go into the multicam source, and right-click > Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence.

This will bring up a dialog with the option to set your camera names to track names. You can then rename your video tracks in the multi-cam source sequence and they will be used as the camera names.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to bring this option up after you have already created the multi-cam source sequence, and any other method just defaults to enumerating the camera names.

A workaround (and possibly quicker workflow) might be to just write down the numbers and the camera names on a piece of paper and then assign keyboard shortcuts to each camera cut, while you use the paper as reference.

Has there been any updates to Premiere to allow you to bring up this dialog box up after the initial setup?

easy workaround to contain that. create mc sequence with random files and use 'set your camera names to track names' option. empty that new created sequence. copy your original clips from the first to the second sequence. that is it, problem solved.
