Choppy Playback

Community Beginner ,
Dec 22, 2021 Dec 22, 2021

I'm sure that this has been posted before but I am very dissapointed with Premiere Pro. I am trialing it on my macbook Pro M1 Max and added a quick .mov file to test it out...

The playback performance is choppy to the extreme.. I only get a few frames as I scub the timeline... this can't be right on a machine with 64GB RAM and 32Core GPU..

What am I missing here? - IMovie seems to perform normally..

Hi there!

Sorry for the trouble. What type of media files are you editing (codec/ format, frame rate, frame size)? Are they screen recorded footage?

Have you tried deleting cache files

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika

Analyze the clip(s) in MediaInfo's tree view. Does it show variable frame rate?

If so, convert the files to constant frame rate in Handbrake.
