Contour Shuttle Pro and Premiere Pro 24 issue

I upgraded to Premiere Pro v24, and my Contour Shuttle Pro V2 shuttle wheel settings don't work properly anymore. Not sure why, I created new settings from my old Premiere Pro v23.6 settings in Contour Shuttle app, connected to Premiere Pro v24, and everything works except for the shuttle wheel. I turn the wheel and it plays back as if I hit L or J once, and as I turn it more it doesn't speed up, just stays at the 1x speed. I've tried other combos in the settings but it doesn't seem to behave as it should.

Anyone getting this behavior? Got any settings that is working for you? Contour support is of no help, you can't even email them for tech support anymore.

Mac Pro 7,1

Ventura 13.6.1

Premiere Pro v24

Contour Shuttle Pro v2 - driver 4.0 (406) (latest one from their website)

Many thanks,

Joseph

Customize it using the exported old premiere setting as a reference. Shuttle wheel should work again.

I've kind of given up on the shuttle for Mac: they haven't updated the mac driver in years: the latest is a beta from 2021 if I'm not mistaken.

I've gone  over to a Tourbox, which they update often.

It's really frustrating. I just want a shuttle wheel that works like a tape deck shuttle wheel. All other buttons and jog wheel work fine.

Curious about the Tourbox, although I'm not willing to spring $300 for it, but can you program that knob to act like a shuttle wheel I am referring to?

Correction - that didn't stick. The shuttle is back to being inoperable.

I should have read on... I see you have it now. I uploaded a preset for you, it works quite well on Shuttle, it's not the pro. Anyway, try it if you like, just use the same thing you did but import... The wheel is what is programed and it works well, speeding up and slowing down, better than the Contour version. Inside the shuttle app, Click the Option button, and then Import Settings and select that file. Let me know if it works...

Hmmm... Mine's coming from Windows. Try using the Export and see what the file is named, if it still uses '.pref' then I don't know, a Mac security thing? If it's different, you can try renaming the file to the one used on a mac.

All you have to do is go to the Contour Shuttle Settings, highlight "Premiere Pro CC 2018 edit", click the gear icon on the bottom and click Copy to New Settings, then navigate to the Aplications folder and select your version of Premiere Pro.

Hi Rob,

That's exactly what I've been doing, as well as other ways, like creating a setting from scratch and not from already loaded Premiere Settings. I take it that your Contour Shuttle Pro's Shuttle ad Jog wheels are working on your system? What are your system specs? Latest Mac Sonoma and Premiere versions?
For me, all the buttons work as they should, it's just the Shuttle and Job wheels are not behaving correctly.

I've been working with Contour's Support team, and we've even gone as far as them shipping me a new Contour Shuttle Pro, which didn't fix the issue.

Thanks!

Jog/shuttle are working fine.

Jog goes frame by frame.

Shuttle is the same as hitting j or k repetedly with speed incrementing with each zone.

The zones are a little finicky but you get used to it. Sometimes turning more doesn't always go faster but if you kind of jerk it back and forth quickly a bit it'll behave well.

It's not the best but works ok.
